Human Genome: Faster Than Moore’s Law
By admin
Moore’s law was applied to the integrated circuit and essentially stated that the number of transistors that can be inexpensively placed on an integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years.
I’m convinced that if Moore was a scientist on the Human Genome Project, he may have been more impressed over the progress of gene sequencing than he was over the technological advancements of transistor counts in integrated circuits.
Ten years ago, the Human Genome was just a dream and now, the cost of the sequencing of the human gene may be reaching the $1000 breakpoint much sooner than any scientists thought possible.
